Tax staff accountant

The primary roles for the Tax Staff Accountant include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Prepare individual and business income tax returns

  • Reconcile accounts and record journal entries as needed

  • Prepare payroll, sales & use tax, and other tax return types as required

  • Assist with tax planning projects and projections

  • Respond to tax notices

The successful candidate will exhibit a willingness to be flexible, adapt to changing priorities, and ability to work under pressure. In addition, the individual will be able to balance the required work with the budgets provided on each engagement.

Full or part-time positions available. 100% remote

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related business field

  • CPA or on CPA track

  • Experience with tax return preparation and QuickBooks preferred, but not required

  • Must be highly detail oriented and comfortable with financial transactions. Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial reports

  • Must enjoy technology and be able to learn programs that are job specific. Working knowledge of Quickbooks, PDF, Windows, GSuite, Word and Excel. Comfortable using the internet and strong typing skills. Testing may be performed.

  • Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills. Candidates may be asked to provide writing samples.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with excellent organizational skills.


senior tax accountant

The primary roles for the Senior Tax Accountant include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Tax preparation and tax planning of closely held businesses and high net-worth individuals.

  • Organizes and manages client assignments, tax returns, and projects including the completion of assignment tasks and project components in a timely and on budget manner.

  • Coach, advise, and direct time members in meeting firm, client, and self-development expectations.

  • Respond to tax notices and correspondence with government agencies.

  • Direct and reviews the work of staff and is capable of making decisions on most tax matters.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience and meets the following qualifications:

  • Has their CPA license

  • Proficient in the preparation of corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary and other tax returns

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Must enjoy technology and be able to learn programs that are job specific. Working knowledge of Quickbooks, PDF, Windows, GSuite, Word and Excel. Comfortable using the internet and strong typing skills. Testing may be performed.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with excellent organizational skills.


administrator

This is a remote/work-from-home position and will report directly under the owner/CPA. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and can work independently with minimal supervision and is inherently organized, detail-oriented and possesses the ability to multi-task. Responsibilities include are but not limited to the following:

  • Preparing client correspondence, letters, e-mail, or other communications.

  • Preparing marketing material, newsletters, and e-blasts.

  • Perform administrative support functions such as filing, data entry, answering phones, etc.

  • Assist in firm project management tasks. Utilize project management software to track task status.

  • Communicate with clients via phone and email, as necessary.

  • Other administrative tasks as needed.
